B1.1
Getting onto B1 ground
A2 → halfway through B1. The shift: from reporting facts to narrating experience and taking a stance.
In plain terms
- Describe a past event or experience, not just state that it happened
- Ask someone's opinion, and give your own
- Make a suggestion — and turn one down without being rude
- Say plainly whether you agree or disagree with an idea

What actually gets taught
Grammatica:
- indirecte rede (reported speech)
- scheidbare werkwoorden (separable verbs)
- plusquamperfectum (past perfect)
- zou (wens) (conditional "zou" for wishes)
- relatief pronomen (relative pronouns)
Functies:
- beschrijvingen geven van gebeurtenissen en ervaringen uit het verleden
- praten over persoonlijke ervaringen
- iemand naar zijn mening vragen en je mening geven
- een voorstel doen en afwijzen; reageren op een idee/plan/voorstel
- het met iemand eens of oneens zijn

B1.2
Finishing B1
Halfway through B1 → full B1. The shift: from stating your own view to actually managing someone else's — empathy, pushback, refusal.
In plain terms
- Respond to someone else's news with genuine sympathy or reassurance, not a stock phrase
- Hold your end of a discussion, not just answer questions in it
- Say you can't or won't do something, without the conversation stalling
- React more strongly when the moment calls for it — not everything is "leuk"

- reageren op een discussiepartner
- iets niet willen/kunnen zeggen
- een versterkte reactie geven
